Il-MPE Daniel Attard jindirizza l-ITB Berlin, l-akbar avveniment globali għat-turiżmu

Il-Membru Parlamentari Ewropew Daniel Attard indirizza l-ITB Berlin, l-akbar avveniment globali dwar l-ivjaġġar u t-turiżmu, fejn iltaqa’ ma’ mexxejja tas-settur, investituri u stakeholders ewlenin tal-industrija.

Matul il-konferenza, Attard ħa sehem f’diskussjonijiet dwar il-futur tat-turiżmu Ewropew, b’attenzjoni partikolari fuq is-sostenibbiltà, l-innovazzjoni u l-isfidi infrastrutturali li qed taffaċċja l-industrija. Huwa sostna l-ħtieġa ta’ viżjoni strateġika aktar koerenti biex is-settur jibqa’ kompetittiv u sostenibbli.

Bħala Membru tal-Kumitat tat-Trasport u t-Turiżmu u parti mit-Tmexxija tat-Tourism Task Force tal-Parlament Ewropew, Attard enfasizza l-importanza li t-turiżmu jingħata l-prijorità fil-livell Ewropew. “Ma nistgħux nibqgħu nħarsu lejn it-turiżmu biss f’termini ta’ statistika. Hemm bżonn ta’ politika ċara li tipproteġi l-komunitajiet lokali, ittejjeb il-kundizzjonijiet tax-xogħol u tiżgura investiment fit-trasport u l-infrastruttura.”

F’Berlin, l-Ewroparlamentari Daniel Attard akkumpanja ukoll lid-Deputat Prim Ministru Ian Borg f’laqgħat ma’ rappreżentanti tal-industrija, fejn ġew diskussi opportunitajiet ta’ investiment u l-aċċessibilità għas-swieq internazzjonali.

Attard ġedded l-impenn tiegħu li fil-livell Ewropew, ikompli jaħdem favur aktar koordinazzjoni, investiment u viżjoni fit-tul biex is-settur turistiku mhux biss jikber, imma jikber fid-direzzjoni t-tajba.

MEP Daniel Attard addressed ITB Berlin, the world’s leading event for the travel and tourism industry, where he engaged with sector leaders, investors, and key stakeholders.

Throughout the conference, Attard participated in discussions on the future of European tourism, with a particular focus on sustainability, innovation, and the infrastructure challenges facing the industry. He stressed the need for a more coherent and strategic long-term vision to ensure the sector remains competitive and sustainable.

As a member of the European Parliament’s Transport and Tourism Committee (TRAN) and part of the leadership of the EP Tourism Task Force, Attard emphasized the importance of making tourism a policy priority at the European level. “We cannot continue to view tourism solely in terms of numbers. We need clear policies that protect local communities, improve working conditions, and drive investment in transport and infrastructure,” he stated.

During his visit to Berlin, Attard also accompanied Deputy Prime Minister Ian Borg in meetings with industry representatives, where discussions focused on investment opportunities and improving access to international markets.

Attard reaffirmed his commitment to working at the European level to push for greater coordination, targeted investment, and a long-term vision, ensuring that the tourism sector does not just grow, but grows in the right direction.
