Daniel Attard Maħtur fit-Tmexxija tat-Task Force tat-Turiżmu tal-Parlament Ewropew
L-Ewroparlamentari Laburista Daniel Attard inħatar b’mod unanimu fit-Tmexxija tat-Task Force tat-Turiżmu tal-Parlament Ewropew.
Din il-ħatra, bl-appoġġ ta’ kull grupp politiku, tirrifletti l-fiduċja fl-impenn ta’ Attard biex isaħħaħ dan is-settur kruċjali għat-tkabbir ekonomiku u l-kompetittività fl-Ewropa.
“Din il-ħatra għalija tfisser responsabbiltà biex inkompli naħdem favur turiżmu li jindirizza l-isfidi ta’ żminijietna u li jagħti aktar opportunitajiet lill-komunitajiet tagħna. Lil hinn mit-titli, hija xhieda tal-ħidma li għamilna biex nibnu relazzjonijiet li permezz tagħhom niksbu riżultati għal Malta”, qal Attard.
Attard dejjem saħaq li fit-turiżmu hemm diversi sfidi komuni li jirrikjedu soluzzjoni komuni bl-appoġġ u s-sostenn dirett tal-UE. Ewlenin fosthom is-sostenibbiltà, in-nuqqas ta’ ħaddiema, u l-bżonn li l-komunitajiet lokali jingħataw aktar appoġġ. Ilkoll temi li se jkunu fiċ-ċentru ta’ ħidmet Daniel Attard fir-rwol li ġie fdat bih.
“Din mhix biss politika; hija viżjoni għal turiżmu li jħares ‘il quddiem, isaħħaħ il-kompetittività, u jipproteġi l-wirt kulturali tagħna,” żied jgħid Attard.
Din l-aħbar timmarka sitt xhur ta’ ħidma konsistenti fil-Parlament Ewropew, wara li fl-aħħar ġimgħat Daniel Attard inħatar ukoll fuq in-Netwerk tal-Petizzjonijiet u kif ukoll Viċi President tad-Delegazzjoni għall-Iran, flimkien ma’ responsabbiltajiet oħra fuq livell tekniku u leġiżlattiv.
Dan apparti t-taħdidiet kontinwi mal-Kummissjoni Ewropea fuq diversi temi t’interess nazzjonali, sabiex l-Ewroparlamentari Laburista jiżgura li l-prijoritajiet ta’ Malta u Għawdex jiġu riflessi fil-livelli kollha tal-politika Ewropea.
Daniel Attard Appointed to EP Tourism Task Force Steering Group
Labour MEP Daniel Attard has been unanimously appointed to the Steering Group of the European Parliament’s Tourism Task Force. This cross-party endorsement underscores the trust placed in Attard’s dedication to bolstering a sector pivotal to economic growth and European competitiveness.
“This appointment carries with it a significant responsibility to advance a tourism industry that addresses today’s pressing challenges while unlocking greater opportunities for our communities. It’s not about titles; it’s about having a decisive voice at the table to drive meaningful change and deliver tangible results for Malta,” Attard stated.
Attard has consistently championed the notion that shared challenges in tourism demand collective solutions, underpinned by robust EU action. Central to his agenda will be tackling critical issues such as sustainability, labour shortages, and enhanced support for local communities.
“This is more than policy; it is a forward-looking vision for a tourism sector that strengthens Europe’s competitiveness while safeguarding our cultural heritage for generations to come,” he added.
This appointment follows six months of sustained efforts in the European Parliament, during which Attard has also been entrusted with key roles, including serving on the Petitions Network and as Vice President of the Delegation to Iran, alongside managing other technical dossiers.
In addition to these responsibilities, Attard has been actively engaging with the European Commission on a range of topics of national importance, ensuring that the priorities of Malta and Gozo are championed at every level of European policymaking.
